More Pro Poker Advice
As you can tell, I’ve basically been following Felicia’s advice of: “you’re boring, so don’t post stuff just to post it.”
I played poker for the first time in a week last night. Results: Not so good. Well, that’s a little deceiving. After chatting with Bobby Bracelet a bit, I thought I’d give the $30 SNGs a whirl.
The upside is that I definitely didn’t feel outplayed. Of course, I got 5th in the two I played, so there a couple things going on there. First of is obviously sample size. The second is that I didn’t get to the money, so I didn’t get against the “better” players. There really wasn’t much difference between the 20s and the 30s as far as I could tell, at least not yet.
Of course, I was also tired as hell, which was not a good time to be playing. How tired was I?
I fell asleep between a hand.
I am suddenly hearing Party’s loud buzz/beep thing telling me I’m about to run out of time and realize I had fallen asleep. Oy. It was a SNG though, so I couldn’t just quit. I outlasted a couple more people, but surprisingly made a couple mistakes and busted 5th.
So here’s some more advice from a Professional Poker Player (TM): Don’t fall asleep betweens of an SNG.
You’re welcome in advance.

There really isn’t that big of a difference competition wise between the 30s and 20s and even the 10s. The biggest difference is between 5 and 10. When you jump up to 50s… you will find the same players you see in the 20s and 30s. The biggest next step is up to 100+8s…. if your playing on pokerroom.com… but i think you are on party. (all my advice is from pokerroom.com) But since I know how the players play at partypoker, there proboally is no step up of play till x,xxx…

If you were playing Yahoo Euchre they would have booted you from the room for even slightly nodding off. Never met more rude people online then I have playing Euchre. Yes, that includes the $25NL WPT fanbois on Party.

Post more often. Those that find it boring can always click away–it’s one of the great things about the ole Intarweb.

Yeah, Party and Stars mostly. Sometimes FTP if they fill up
I’m guessing it’s pretty much the same everywhere. Thanks!

Its tough to write about poker day in and day out. Comes out to just be about internet sessions, bad beats and just how you haven’t played poker in a while.

Hi Chris
I used to be an almost daily reader. I still come back about once a week or so to see if you’ve put up anything new, but I miss the more frequent posts.
I’ve been playing SNG’s on Stars, and am in the black after 80+ games. Someone mentioned the SNGs were softer on Party, so I went over and tried a few. Busted out on 3 of 4. I think it’s harder to play with the T800 starting stack. You can’t wait as long for the jerks to bust out. I like Stars better.
Just my .02 worth.
