Not much to report on the poker front lately. I didn’t play in the WPBT tourney for a couple reasons, the most important was that my wife and I had something to do together.
So last night I putzed around a bit, getting ready to settle in for the season premier of Lost when I start to hear tornado sirens.
Crap.
Now I’m not the type to quickly scurry for the basement, I tend to wait a bit and see what happens, so I held tight. Then the power flickers a couple of times, goes out, comes back and then once again goes out for good at about 7:15PM (CDT).
Crap.
The winds were terrible, they say up to 70mph or so. I have a couple of large branches down, but a lot of my neighbors have whole trees that were uprooted. I’m still without power as of this morning. My lunch plans have changed so that I don’t let the leftover Thai go bad
Now, don’t get me wrong, I know there are much, much worse off people out there right now. In other words, I’m not comparing my situation to those who are suffering through hurricanes and such, so don’t freak out or anything…
It would be good to have power again though, after all, Survivor is on tonight…I’m already downloading the Lost season premiere. Oh, and I have things going on the next couple of nights that require Internet access and therefore power.
Thanks Princess for the call. The family is OK which is what’s important. In the grand scheme of things, it’s not that bad.

Glad to hear you took no major damage, sorry for the hardships. It missed us down south pretty well, thankfully.
Missed you at the WPBT! My first time, and I threw the hammer successfully! Woo-hoo!
Poor Bad Blood doubled me up twice.
I wrote it up on my blog.

Those Midwestern thunderstorms are not to be trifled with. Seriously, I wouldn’t trade dealing with hurricanes for dealing with tornadoes. At least I know when the hurricanes are coming.
Glad to hear everything came out OK. Those looked like some nasty cells in Minnesota the other night.

living up north, eh? - I’d say we lost about 30 branches and a couple administrative buildings before power was restored - that was north of Roseville and beyond…
I got lucky - near Lake Calhoun…we did ok…

Dang those pesky tornadoes! They’re like telemarketers, coming a’ calling when they’re not wanted. Anyway, it’s nice to hear you got out (relatively) okay. Hopefully when all this blows over (no offense) we can get you back inside a casino or two.

Tornado Warnings? Jeeze, The only warnings we get up here in MA are smog warnings. Wish you the best!
