Glad your cat made it through the surgery. I'm sure she'll forgive you but don't be surprised if she tries to make you feel guilty from time to time. ;)

I was at the fair approx. 3 yrs ago when a horse broke free at midnight

poor thing was getting hit from all angles in the crowd, broke it's harness, and tore off like hell - knocked a guy over 4 feet from me and got near the south end of the fairgrounds and snorted and looked scared - this all being 10 feet from me - he then charged cause two drunk guys with beer cups were trying to chase him down.

Knowing horses, I figured I had a pretty good shot of not getting run down if I stood my ground, but just the same wanted to jump a certain direction if I didn't know where he was going - about 3 feet to go he veered left and I let a big ol' whew -

ain't been back since - never did like stale beer and food on a stick.

My favorite bitchy tabby sends a claw-less high-five your kitty's way. Also, she offers instruction on how to clawlessly kick a puppy's ass, if your kitty should be so inclined.

Declawing a cat is always tough, because it's "unnecessary" surgery for your little mouser. And for the first few days, when the cat is limping around with bandages and can't use it's usual litter, you feel like a complete scumball. But after the incisions heal, and after you're cat gets around OK on its new pins, it's not a bad thing. Provided yours is an indoor cat. The cat gets uses to not having its scalpels, and you get uses to not waking up with incisons in your face from your cat kneading your cheeks. Treat your indoor cat with extra affection, and they'll forgive you. Eventually.
