Google Hates Me

(Posting this under “Poker” because, well, it’s the reason for the post…)

Thank you for your continued interest in AdSense.

Based on this review process, we feel your site, www.chrishalverson.com, does not currently meet the program requirements. Because we respect the confidentiality of all publishers, we cannot disclose any additional details of our partnerships with other sites.

Nice. Now, I don’t really need any ad revenue and I wasn’t planning on being a big deal. I’ve got a great deal on hosting and I own the server along with a couple friends, but come on. Every blogger.com site has (or can easily get) ads. Virtually every other poker blog has Google ads, but I get rejected due to “gambling content”. Twice.

To prove that they were hypocrites, I replied to their email and listed all the poker blog sites that I know of that have Google ads. So, err, sorry if you guys get your ads revoked.

Just kidding.

Sorry for the distraction, just needed to vent a bit.

That is because they have other sites that are in the program. Once you get an account, you can place ads on any site. I have ads on a bunch of my poker websites, no prob. ;)

It’s because YOUR gambling content is good.

    ;)

Mike’s right. I got AdSense through my main blog and then added it to FtN. (Neither currently sport the ads, though.)

  5. Ahh…OK, I’ll try that. I have another site that generates a fair amount of traffic even though I haven’t updated it in 5 years (yes, 5 years). I’ll submit that and add this in.

    Thanks!!!

    Thanks April!! I appreciate it!

Generally porn sites do pretty well whether you update it or not :D

I never even tried, I figure I use the f word and the c word a bit too much for most advertisers taste.

    F*ck those C*nts anyways.

I was banned by google adsense, too. I was also banned on the free access WAP at a local bistro, but the blogspot/blogger poker blogs were not. May have something to do with how their bots scrape the site. Dunno. good luck with figuring it out.

I love Adsense, but keep it off anything poker related for fear of having them cancel my account. It’s too profitable elsewhere (http://www.geekandproud.net/terror/) for me to risk it.

There are alternatives, and I have some up at http://www.reloadbonus.com/. I have no idea how they compare as far as revenue because as of right now that site gets virtually no traffic.

You can track certain campaigns to see where your clicks are coming from..

  11. Had no trouble getting adsence even though my blog is new.

I think Google may have bought blogspot and is in a hurry to monetize it.

    That would explain a lot.

I got approved on the blog and then put ads on my other sites. The other sites are also new and probably would have been turned down.

Would you send me that list of poker sites with Google Adsense? They rejected my page (www.strategicdevelopment.com/poker) and I’d like to have a little evidence to launch my rant (although I doubt they will relent).

    THANKS

  13. No, I won’t publish any sites. If you can’t find them you’re not looking. Sorry, I don’t mean to be a prick about it, but I don’t want to get anybody’s ads taken away. Your argument will not change their minds, so I would suggest not doing it. Get them approved on another site, then just add them to your poker site. It’s still not totally “legit”, but it will get you the ads.

Anyone tried adbrite on their poker site?
