Vegas Hating, or just Friday Rambling

Friday, December 9th, 2005

So here I am, sitting in single digit weather while the rest of the poker bloggers are in Vegas. Joy. I figure there’s about 4 of you left that are reading this, and it will get lost in the trip reports, but what the hell, I haven’t posted in a while. To those of you in Vegas, while I think you all suck, I do hope you have fun. Hank, throw some bones for me. Pauly, get us some good stories. Drizz, Chad and Whiskey, represent Minnesota well. Al, have a shot on me.

First off, I have to give kudos to Poker Stars. After a little snafu with the iPod award from the tourney a while back, they more than made good. They just get it. Nice job.

I received an advance copy of the novel “Cards”, but am having some trouble getting through it. While it has the train wreck quality of classic Sir Waffle, it also is basically a book of hand histories with some story thrown around them. I’ll give a full review when I’m done, hopefully the story will pick up. I’m just to the part where he gets to Paris, so from what I’ve read in other reviews, it’s about to pickup.

I’ve played a little poker over the last couple of weeks, nothing major but it’s gone well.

I have spent the last ten days or so finishing up my final project for my Masters degree. I will turn in the final paper by Sunday and then I am done. I have been certified to graduate at the successful completion of this class, so it’s as good as done.

Have fun in Vegas beetches. Just remember those of us with responsibilities.
