Why the hell would I even care about a 1-4 team at this point in time?
In the last 24 hours I received two opposing emails. The first from the guy running our office King of the Hill league:
Bastard, only 1 of 2 left and possibly the winner….

XXXX picked Denver, they play Monday
The other was from Pauly:
hey chris, good news, if Denver wins tonight by 6 points, then you’ll win team of the week in my football pool! u have 9 wins so far.
Keep in mind that I started slow on Pauly’s leauge, but have now rallied back to be tied for fifth (I’m not good with point spreads, and you don’t even want to look at my college entry in Pauly’s league).
Now, on one hand I want Denver to win (by 6 or more) so I can claim a weekly victory at Pauly’s Pub. This is for pride and ulitmately maybe cash at the end of the year.
On the other hand, if Cincinnati wins, I win $260.

For the record, here were my picks for the King of the Hill (pick one team per week to win outright, you cannot pick that team again during the season):
Week 1: St. Louis
Week 2: New Orleans
Week 3: Seattle
Week 4: New England
Week 5: Denver
Week 6: Atlanta
Week 7: Balitmore
I barely eeked by on Week 6 with Atlanta making a miracle comeback to win by 1 with a minute or so left. Week 7 saw 4 of the remaining 7 pick Seattle.
That’s a net of $250 after paying back my $10 buyin. I hear the 6/12 at Canterbury calling my name and my “free” money…

Not this time. While I know I have set the gold standard for rebuys at your tourney, I am striving to not have to do so this time.
*sigh* I’m sure I will anyway…I’m just hoping I’m not first and that Al or Pete actually has to rebuy this time too

Just to make you feel better I was the TD for a tourney run by Pete where a player rebought 5 times under the same format we’ve played before. You’ve got a loooong way to go to sink to that level!
