WP Plugin: Pokerhand
I was indirectly reminded by Geek and Proud that I had written a WordPress macro to convert poker hands into suits. This is a conversion of my previous Movable Type plugin, but much more streamlined as WP makes it easier to accomplish.
I take a slightly different approach to outputting hand information. I use the example that most people type hands like “AsKc”. To change this into something like
After looking at Alan’s version I improved mine a bit (thanks!!). I also dropped support for IE versions less than 6. In this case the diamonds will not show up correctly. Too bad. The big change internally was cleaning up the CSS and copying the wp_head stuff which I did not know about.
You can download this from here. Let me know if you have any questions. I’ll release my Bison hand converter one shortly.

Interesting. I don’t know which method I like better. I’ll probably just install both plugins and use whichever I feel like at the time.
I’m looking forward to the Bison hand converter. I was actually going to ask for the source code and make one myself, but I guess I’ll wait for yours.

Awesome! This plugin will be perfect for the new poker blog I plan to launch in a few weeks. Right after I finish up with pokerchiptricks.com this weekend, which is powered by a hacked up WP.
