Woo hoo! Sounds like a great session… your B&M win rate is 2 BB/Hour, not bad! It’ll take you a few sessions before you get really comfortable, but at least now you’ve been “indoctrinated”.

It was great to hear about the shaky hands and thumping heart. I’ve definitely been there. Don’t worry about playing “too tight”. At that level people don’t know what folding is, so if you only play 20% of your hands, it’s crazy to them.

Canterbury is indeed a great card room. Hopefully they will rip out the table games room in the back and fill that up with poker tables too. Haven’t been out there for a few weeks and am itching to go again…

that was a great story…makes me want to play.

I’ve never sat for a poker game at a casino, and the few blackjack games I have played always seemed wicked fast too

At most rooms, you can call ahead and have them put you on the list … you might try that. Usually, they put you at the bottom of the list with a time next to your name. If they get to you, you stay at the top of the list until you get there — it can be handy, especially at the midwestern rooms that don’t have enough tables.

Great write up on your first live experience. A good stiff drink prior to sitting down gets rid of the shaky hands too, by the way.
